Trent and Tonelle were awesome to deal with. All the Anderson Fencing team were friendly and hardworking, they just got on with it. Our place was challenging to fence and there was no shortage of solutions and ideas from Trent, which we greatly appreciated. Thanks team!
Would most definitely recommend Anderson Fencing, excellent communication - very quick to respond and to come out and get a quote sorted. Hard-working and professional individuals who are obviously dedicated to their craft. Incredibly pleased with the end result and at a very reasonable cost. Will absolutely be using these fellas again in the future!

Generally, yes. If the fence is new or needs replacing, under the Fencing Act your neighbour pays half of the cost of a standard fence (this is usually a 1.8m high timber paling fence). There is a process you need to follow under the act. However, we recommend having a friendly chat with your neighbour first, to see if they are willing and able to contribute to the new fence. There is more information on the Consumer NZ website.
There should be boundary pegs on each corner of your property. If you can only find one or two you can work off property plans to help find the others, alternatively is to get your boundary surveyed. We can recommend a great surveyor for this.
We will visit your site, and if required provide advice and recommendations. We'll then send you an estimate for the job. We'll be able to give you an approximate time-frame and make arrangements if you choose to proceed. Due to the nature of our work we can sometimes be delayed due to weather and currently we are experiencing some delays in material supply, but we'll keep in touch during this time.
The DCC will require consent for retaining walls higher than 1.5 metres (3.0 metres in rural area if designed by a chartered professional engineer)and fences or walls higher than 2.5 metres, and all swimming pool and their associated fences. More information can be found on the DCC website.
A great option to ensure the ‘Same on both sides’. Something to be mindful of is when the fenceline has a slope, the panels will need to be cut down on an angle - to follow the gradient of the ground. This results in the panels being shorter, for example, a 1.8m high fence might end up being 1.6m in height for that section of fence.
